About Us

The Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) is the leading international association for fundraising professionals.  Founded in 1960, AFP serves more than 25,000 members in 167 chapters located throughout the Canada, Mexico and the United States.

The Mid-America Chapter, based in Kansas City, has grown considerably over the past several years and currently has a membership of just under 300. The organization works to achieve two primary goals:

  • foster the development and growth of fundraising professionals;

  • preserve and promote philanthropy and volunteerism and high ethical standards in the fundraising profession.

The Mid-America Chapter is a past recipient of the Founders' Award for Public Service, honoring chapter achievements in promoting and maintaining high standards of public service and conduct.
